1970 blazer
i bought a 1970 blazer a few weeks ago its a really solid truck.
i have a few questions though. Mine is really bumpy ( rides rough) i know its an old truck but are they all like this or do i have another problem the shocks on it look to be new. Also i dont have the keys for the locks which means i dont have the key for the back hatch is there anyway to have a keyed made for these |

Mine was super bumpy when I bought it put new tires on it now it rides like a Cadillac. Also congrats

A very short wheelbase and leaf springs will add up to a ride that's going to be a bit bumpier than what you may be used to. Good tires will help.
I would ask around locally for a locksmith that can help you. I wouldn't just use the yellow pages, because there are some good ones and ones that will take you for a ride. |

I agree with the above listed responses, short wheel base, old springs/suspension/tires. If you're looking at redoing the suspension, look into tuff country springs, they are supposed to have a pretty good ride.

Hatch lock may be same as the door lock. Remove a door lock and have a key cut by a locksmith. Check first with Locdock on this site .

I put Tuff Country springs on my 70. Still rides ruff compared to a modern truck, but much better than the worn out originals

Tires. If they are old and hard really do make for a rough ride. I was very surprised at how much difference a new set made. Also your shocks may be overkill. A lot of guys put really heavy shocks on these and they don't let anything move.
I went with skyjacker springs all around and the shocks that came with the kit for our trucks. They ride very nicely. As nicely as a solid axle truck will ride anyway. Posted via Mobile Device |

P.S. my door and ignition keys are the same. Did you check yours?
