Re: Camaro rally wheels?

Reminds me of my first Chevy truck. Bought a '55, '56 & '56 GMC in a package deal when I returned from my 2d tour in VN in '72 - made one truck out of them w/Muncie 4 speed, 283, black interior w/Mustang bench seat & Corvette "War Bonnet Yellow" paint, black wheels, WWW. Ended up trading for a '66 El Camino. My wife and kids loved that truck.

That's the look we are going for. Probably going to do a contrasting wheel color.
Thanks for the pics.

Re: Camaro rally wheels?

Does anyone make an original style 55-59 pickup hubcap that fits stock Camaro/corvette rally wheels? I've seen a picture one time of a guy who did this and looked good.

Re: Camaro rally wheels?

Yeah, I am looking for the 1957-1960 style hubcaps. I imagine someone must make them for rally wheels?

Wheels Vintique makes some that fit their repro rally wheels but you would have to ask if they will fit oem rally wheels.

They make a car cap but I don't know about a truck cap http://www.wheelvintiques.com/chevy-...-smoothie.html
That fits a car rally or their rallye wheels.

Re: Camaro rally wheels?

I contacted The Wheel Smith and asked about their 57-60 chevy pickup wheel caps made for their rallye wheels. I asked them if these caps fit their wheels specifically or OEM rally's too. The response I got was, "Not sure, but I know the back side mounting diameter is 7 inches". They are charging a whopping $115 per cap!!!!! I checked my factory rally caps in the garage and measured the backside mounting diameter......... 7 inches! So in short, yup they have the caps I'm looking for. I am interested in finding them cheaper someplace else. The 7 inch diameter backside mounting is the magic measurement when looking for these caps. Anyone know other places that sell them?

Re: Camaro rally wheels?

when I wanted the GMC caps for my smoothies they (wheelsmith) were the only game in town and $145 ea. I bought regular smooth caps ($60) and looked at some GMC decals on ebay ($15), no way was it worth $600 to me. but to someone else, maybe.

I havent ever seen another vendor for most of the caps wheelsmith sells. I'll tell you though, they know their stuff on wheels, I would bet the caps are worth it.
