1990 V3500 TBI problems

Just picked up a really clean 1990 v3500 4X4 with 454, th400, np205, 14 bolt, Dana 60. Was running great. Got it home, crawled underneath and wires were scattered all over going to the gas tanks. I got the schematic of the factory wiring, removed all the rat nest and re wired all. I now have a good selector valve and good pressure to the TBI, but no vroom vroom. I teased it with gas down the intake and it started. Had a friend try and start it and I observed no fuel coming from the injectors. I replaced the filter and rebuilt the TBI with new screens and o rings. Still no fuel. I jumped the injectors with a battery and they click. I have power at the injector connector with the key on, but no ground. Can someone please help me???

Just a guess but how is the spray on the injectors? Is it worth installing some new ones?

When I "trick" the injectors with a battery they have a very even spray.

Sounds like maybe the fuel pump relay, or bad pump.

There is no pump relay on dual tank trucks and I have good pressure up to the TBI.

Seems like there is an injector fuse also. You may have inadvertantly shorted that out when you repaired the wiring. I don't think it is a big fuse- maybe a 5 amp if that. Mine is converted, so I still have the '74 fusebox. Just going off of memory.

Re: 1990 V3500 TBI problems

You might gheck them all. I found wiring diagrams on the AutoZone website, it looks like there is an ECM A & ECM B fuse that might be culprit. I could have sworn there is an INJ fuse as well.
