I-6 power steering pump bracket?

Is the power steering pump bracket specific to the I-6?
I have the whole PS system but the pump bracket is from a Small Block.
If it is specific, is there a vendor that sells them?
If not, would a bracket from a later year (square body) work?
I've never seen a 67-72 I-6 truck with PS in the yard, but have on the later models

Re: I-6 power steering pump bracket?

The L6s had different P/S brackets, one for the 250 and another for the 292. They were both totally different from the SBC brackets. I don't know if big block V8s had different brackets from small blocks. Probably so.
P/S brackets for the 250 can be found with a little digging. 292s were a different story. Quite rare, as most 292s were in work trucks, fleet trucks, school busses, UPS vans, etc. and were not ordered with any extras. I've seen 292 P/S and AC brackets on ebay, but aftermarket stuff, and expensive.

Re: I-6 power steering pump bracket?

Just FYI, the later I6 with integral-manifold-head brackets are different than the early ones that have a separate manifold. They can be modified, but it is best to find like for like. Novas seem to be a good source for this bracket for some reason.

Well, it sounds like I'll be on the hunt for a Leprechaun, riding a Unicorn.
Wish me luck.
Oh, and thanks for all the info

That's only Leprechauns with Red vests on Roan unicorns.

Re: I-6 power steering pump bracket?

Do you have a 250 or a 292? Here is a pump with 292 bracket on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/232022190254
