How do I remove the lower column shift lever on a 1970 non-titlt column?

It's not designed to be removed. Where there's a will, there's a way, but you would likely degrade the structural integrity and alignment of the parts by doing so. When I restored my column, I just cleaned up and painted that assembly as-is.

I was starting to think it was a factory press fit! Thanks for the tip. I'm not gonna mess it up so I'll just clean it up real well.
