2 or 3 Leaf Front Springs?

I've been looking at ordering factory replacement front leaf springs for my 72 k5 and I've seen springs with 2 and 3 leaf offered. Which is correct, and is there a need for the 3 leaf pack? Thanks

3 leaf packs are HD from the factory and give a slight lift

Not sure which is correct for a K5, I'm sure they could've come with either from factory. If you have a big block or a heavy front bumper with a winch then the 3 leaf might be better. If not I'd recommend sticking with the 2 leaf since they will ride slightly better.

Different animal, but relevant: My stock 77 K10 had 2-leaf. Local spring builder made a very nice tapered 3-leaf that leveled the truck and rode way better.

My K5 and K25 both had 2 leaf, the CUCV axles I have gotten and my son's 86 CUCV all have 3 leaf fronts.

Re: 2 or 3 Leaf Front Springs?

Also, I always thought the stock negative arch that many of the GM 2-leaves came with... rode horribly. If you can get a little positive arch I feel they ride much better, even if your final spring pack has a little higher spring rate.
