Backwards Heater Lever?? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have an odd problem. On my 66 deluxe heater w/AC the heater lever appears to be working backwards. It's been years since I ran the truck so I checked the owner's manual and it says full heat (Hot) is down. The temps on mine are are hotter with the lever up.

I can't see how the cable end directions can be reversed. The cable exits the heater control in a down direction and the other end comes straight out of the firewall to the lever on the heater core box.

Any thoughts?

Stock heater AC unit or Vintage AC ?

Both factory stock.
