"I Hate When That Happens"

I had the idea for this thread and the day I was going to post it I saw Richard started his thread, "Don't you just hate it when...". I expected to see he had the exact same idea. Pretty much what I was going to call mine. I think he stole the idea out of my head! But his thread is a different topic.

Here's what this thread is about, anything that you could say "Hate when that happens", and here is what started it all...

Ever get done your shower, dry off, put clothes on including socks, then go back in the bathroom to brush your teeth (or whatever)…

AND YOU STEP ON A WET SPOT??? I hate when that happens!

I hate it when I go out to the kitchen for my coffee and find the cat has tipped over her water bowl, and my once dry, warm, socks become an instant sponge.

Right!! Same thing. Fresh out of the shower means fresh socks I only took 10 steps in... all wet! @#%&*!!!!

Yep, gotta change the socks. I was eating grapes in the kitchen yesterday and step on one that apparently fell off the vine. I had to wash one foot.

Here’s one that used to bug me.. I just hated.
Go to the job, move all the furniture, rip out all the carpet and pad.
Install new carpet and pad, get ready to put furniture back and the customer wants to dust all their furniture.
I’m thinking you’ve had all day to do this and the moment I start moving things back you gotta clean?
Now days I’ll give them a heads up.
But, there ain’t nothin I can do about a grape I don’t see.
Sometimes it ain’t just the sour grapes the make a bad whine.

You're tightening the lug nuts ready to be done and the last one strips the stud and it starts spinning. can't get it on, can't get it off.

I hate when that happens!!

How about this one. You give your dog a good shampoo job, get it all dried off, and first time outside it goes and finds rotten guts to go roll in.

I have something along those lines:

Running late to get down the road to a job one day, rush out the door, about half way there I look down at my feet and I'm still wearing my slippers Hate when that happens!!

I hate not being able to find something that I know I have.

I was cooking a few days back and couldn't find the mustard. I looked everywhere. Then finally ran to the store and bought some. I needed it for what I was cooking.
The next day I was looking for something else that I couldn't find. And there was my first bottle of mustard sitting right there on the shelf. I don't know how I could have missed a bright yellow bottle. But I did. Now I have 2 bottles in the fridge.

A friend told this one at the coffee shop this morning.

While visiting relatives, he got up one night, and in poor light, got a tube of moisturizer out of his bag, and started rubbing it on his feet. As he rubbed he noticed it getting stickie and then stickier. and then his fingers started sticking to his feet.

He had a tube of super glue instead of moisturizer.

Oh no!! He needed a lot of moisturizer after what ever nasty stuff he had to use to even try to get that stuff gone.

Another case of mistaken product identity:

Winchester, VA is home to White House brand apple juice. The town is the hub of apple orchard country for the area. When I has a short little fart, I saw a bottle of apple juice on the kitchen counter, reached up, and snuck a slash. Mom had to laugh when I got my come upins. You see, they also sell apple cider vinegar in a very similar bottle and label

So you load up the filter with coffee. Fill the water reservoir with 80oz of water. Start the coffee maker. Turn and walk away but, you hear a funny drizzling splatter sound.
Turn around again only to see that you didn’t put the pot under the machine. Fresh black coffee puddling on a white counter top. Scramble to turn off the machine. Go get a towel and realize my step daughter has been sitting on the stairs watching the whole debacle with a smile on her face.
Man, I hate when that happens.

Making coffee is probably the most routine thing I do every day. But I can still screw it up like that. I also fix oatmeal while it's brewing. The fresh filled coffee sitting beside the oatmeal bowl. 1/2 tsp of sugar and a dash of cream in the coffee and blueberries on the oatmeal. Think of all the combinations of that between the two and I have done it. I've had to fish blueberries out of my coffee more than once.

I've had the spoon flip out of the coffee cup and flick coffee all over the place. "I just want to drink my coffee, not clean up the dang kitchen before I can have some!"

I use short milk glass advertising mugs. I'll go to put my finger through the handle to lift that pure heaven to my mouth and MISS! Doggone spilled coffee that belongs in my mouth all over the place. I hate when that happens!

Or how about one of the worst? Coffee's done, sugar in, pour in the cream that is nowhere near close to empty, and it curdles. I stand there in total disappointment staring at a perfect cup of coffee I just destroyed. HATE IT!!

My wife bought some buffalo jerky. When I saw it I ripped into it.

It was kind of tough.

My wife saw me eating it and asked me how I liked it.

I said it was a little tough. Even for jerky.

So she tells me that's because those are dog treats. Read the label.

I look at the label. "Dog Treats".

Now when she feeds the dogs she asks me if I want some.

I can't say it ever happened to me, but my wife hated it when she got up at 5 am to go to work and brushed her teeth with Icy hot instead of the toothpaste on the other side of the sink. I could still hear back then, but I bet I could have heard the scream even if I was deaf. She looks very close now.

On an old computer I had a picture of a guy brushing his teeth when he realized it was Preparation H! I hope he wasn't on his way to the dentist.

I have been wondering what Icey Hot taste like for the Last hour

Icy and hot I figure.

I had to go in to the town end of my road to a buddy's to replace some tab shingles that blew off on Friday. We had high winds on Thanksgiving and rain coming Saturday. He has a "house with a view", like 25 miles to Catoctin Mountain, on Parrs Ridge... Gets wind!! His roof is about due. He said one spot looked pretty bare.

I loaded up some tar paper for the bare spot, nails, and meant to bring shingles I have that are the same as his. I knew he had some from before, but mine were just in case he needed more. Town is about 5 miles and I was literally around the corner from his place when I realized I forgot the shingles. I turn around and go back for them. We climb up and look and it turns out mine weren't needed after all and neither was the paper. It was apparent the tack on the shingles wasn't so tacky anymore. When ever I replace shingles in cold weather I put some spots of roof tar to assure they stick down. And that's when I realized I didn't bring any roof tar. The one thing I did need to bring. So back to my place again! It seems I never have work so close to home, just 5 miles into town, and he might as well have lived 15 miles away!

I don't really like when that happens! Doomkoff!!
