I like it!
50K invested. ouch!!! How could you ever expect to recover from that?
It must not be fast enough or something. He said he's only driven it 500 miles since the rebuild.

I dont know 50K seems like an awful lot for what he got there. If I put 50K in to my 2WD Blazer I'm sure I could make it a whole lot faster and a lot nicer. But that just my 2 cents worth.

That's what I'm aiming for in the very long run with my '70. Stock looking on the outside...until you see it shred the quarter mile

That is very nice! I am always amazed about how people get caught up with how much someone spent on thier ride. If you think what he spent is out of line then you are very talented and can do nice work or your not very realistic about what good work costs. Besides it doesn't matter what he paid it's what you can buy it for that counts

To put this in perspective... at $40/hr (a resonable shop rate), that's 1250 hours of work... just over 6 months. And that figure assumes the truck and every single part on it was free! Is it worth $50k? Not to me. But that doesn't mean it didn't cost that.

I guess I'm used to doing almost all the work to my trucks myself. Can't afford to take it to someone else to "Fix it up" - Besides, I like to be able to say "I did it myself". I guess if a persons got the $$ that's OK. I just don't see how he managed to spend 50 grand on it - that's all.
