What seats will fit my 74 best?

I am wanting to put a new seat in my 74 c10 and was wondering which bench seat from other vehicles such as a tahoe, silverado truck or other newer truck would be the least complicated to install with not too much fabricating. I know quite a few have done this and some had to even cut out the hump under the seat. Are there any seats that are bolt in to fit a 74 frm another year of tahoe or truck?

73-87s realy don't have a seat friendly floor as far as mounting goes. What is wrong with your current seat and what type of seats do you realy want?

Re: What seats will fit my 74 best?

I had an 88-94 bench in my truck for a while and I really liked it. In their infinite wisdom, GM glued the cover to the foam on those seats, making recovering them a huge PITA. I had the original bench recovered instead. It looks great, but no quite as comfy as the later bench was.

JKnight, the current bench in there now is really starting to sag on the drivers side and it does not tilt forward to get behind the rear of seat. Dont know if latch is broken, or if there is one at all. Cant locate it anywhere. Might of broken off?

The folding seat back was an option. Yours may not have it, especially if it is a Custom model.

Re: What seats will fit my 74 best?

My stock seat in my '74 does not fold forward. So I took out the two upper screws that fasten the back to the base. Now it tilts! Also there is no foam on the base, Just metal springs, so I stuffed a bunch of foam under the seat for more support (I'm a fat ass). Works well for me.
