West Coast Members: look out, possible tsunami headed your way
Big earthquake just happened (30 minutes ago) near Alaska, seems a buoy saw a 32 foot wave, one police department reported ocean water draw back (sure sign tsunami is building).
Here is a map I got off CNN a few minutes ago. 8.2 magnitude reported, dropped to 7.9. Indonesia just saw a 6.2 mag earthquake to the southwest of Java and the shaking was so bad in Jakarta people felt "dizzy" afterwards. |

Where was it that the water draw back was reported? I'm glad there was no Tsunami. I couldn't see on there how long I had till it hit Maryland.

Re: West Coast Members: look out, possible tsunami headed your way
Yeah, it was big news around here early in Victoria/Vancouver Island this morning.
Once again, local officials are running around with no real game plan, quality warning system, etc. We don't have much to worry about where we are...being 5 miles inland and probably 200 ft above sea level....but coastal communities are always in danger. Regardless....thanks for the info...always. All good Coley

Re: West Coast Members: look out, possible tsunami headed your way
lol....I had to laugh at the 'big follow up' this event locally and the danger element.
Local officials are going to..(wait for it)....come up with a warning app......for the public, lol. Nice, and heavy on the brilliance there...because like everyone I'm all about the latest apps....plus I sleep with my phone near my pillow, lol. (NOT!) Techno arse-clowns at work....that is the real danger. Coley

Re: West Coast Members: look out, possible tsunami headed your way
Not a tsunami, more like a white tornado. I cleaned up the place last summer when my daughter and grandson were coming to visit. I mean I did a really good job. They get here and apparently my X manipulated her ass up here from Florida at the same time (when they had just come from being with her a month). I thought it would be good for my son to have a chance to spend time with his mom, so I told her she could stay here. It was actually kind of nice seeing hw nervous, if not neurotic, she was while I just came and went as if she wasn't there. She ended up cleaning the house even more thoroughly, bought a couple lamps I didn't need, a new Shark vacuum I didn't need, tossed out my phone books I wanted to keep, made a thrift shop run with a load...that I inspected and approved. When she was out of things to do she started going bananas, said "If there's nothing else to do I have to leave. I can't be here and not do anything". I figured she could leave . I went outside to my son and his buddy who were messing around on his truck and said, "Man, if she cleaned and did so much when we were married I might have kept her" . I think she did more in those couple few days than the 25 years we were married. The best part was getting to see what a neurotic mess she is and reminded that is why our parting was a good thing. Shewee!! I mean to tell you, a nervous mess and I used to have to deal with it everyday... and the house was always a mess!

Re: West Coast Members: look out, possible tsunami headed your way
I get the same thing here. My daughter and grand daughter live at the ranch. The ex babysits my grandson and grand daughter. Takes and picks up from school, cleans etc... We have been divorced a long time. But because of the kids I'm stuck with her for life. My girlfriend gets a long with her and so do I. It makes life kinda nice now. Ok,.I'm done rambling. LOL
