Thanks!! The build thread was started right at the end of the project so it got updated all at once, and then the project was finished so updates stopped. I guess since it wasn't strung-out over a longer length of time like most build threads less people have seen it. My Goldilocks build thread has gotten a ton more attention and all I've done so far is haul home peices of a truck and yak about what I want to do with the peices!

Re: '65 Chevy C10 Long Fleet Retrospective Build Thread

theastronaut, was the color matched line-x a very expensive option? Was the whole process simple enough. And does it have UV protection for fading?

Something I'm considering but am not sure due to cost. It looks absolutely

I think the normal price is around $800? He gave us a deal since he was a little slow at the time and could use it to stay busy, and we send each other a good bit of work. They do all the prep work and masking, and did a great job. It's a two step process, first a tinted liner that gives the build thickness and texture, and a second coat that matches the paint exactly. I'm not sure on the UV protection, we weren't too worried about it on this truck since it'll be indoors all the time.

Very cool. Thank you! Do you know why type of surface it can be sprayed onto? If I consider it, I don't want to lay paint. Do you think it'd be okay to spray it on top of primer and or any negative in doing so? Thanks

I did the rough bodywork in the bed and sprayed two coats of epoxy, then they prepped and sprayed over that. Small dents and heavy rust pitting will show up, so you've still got to do the rough bodywork to get the panels back into shape. No long board blocking needed though. No issues at all with adhesion this way.

Re: '65 Chevy C10 Long Fleet Retrospective Build Thread

I had the truck back at the shop this weekend to detail it for a photoshoot. The owners were out of town so I drive it up to meet the photographer. It was about a 50 mile drive one way and it ran like a champ! Dad ride with me and we stuck to back roads to keep the speeds down (it's geared short). We went through downtown Greenville on the way up to Greer and got plenty of looks, thumbs ups, and waves while driving through. I should get the pics from the shoot back in around a week and will post them asap!

I got the CD with the photoshoot pics last night and they're awesome! I'll post a few of my favorites, and the rest of the 78 pics can be found Here or as a slide show Here.

Re: '65 Chevy C10 Long Fleet Retrospective Build Thread

I just went back through your entire build thread. The level of detail is absolutely mind blowing. I love the little features like the mirror arm and bumper bolts. Most people won’t notice many of these extreme measures but you’ll know they are there, along with everyone that’s seen this thread. Sincerest compliments on a magnificent achievement.

I'm going back and fixing the dead pic links, and also adding in extra pics that I had while I'm at it.

Thanks dudes, glad you guys like it.

If it doesn't rain this weekend we'll have it out at the annual Downtown Fathers Day car show. I'll get some pics of it at the show an post them.

Thanks! Here's some shots from the Fathers Day Show today.

Pulling out early this morning.

Parked beside an older brother at the show.

And a shot of a CJ-7 that I painted that debuted at the show.
