Door Wire Looms
I have power window and door lock wires going into my doors and would like to find a good wire loom. For now I black electrical taped the wires tight and put plastic sleves in the holes drilled in the door and door jam as not to have the wire insulation damaged. What are you guys using? Pictures would be great.

Re: Door Wire Looms
On our 55 Bel-Air show car we used these spring loaded contacts. You can see them in the picture; it’s the squarish black plastic piece with 4 spring loaded brass contacts. One set goes on the door and the other on the cab. It works really well but of course only when the doors are closed. (No big deal). We tried the loom style at first but they were somewhat awkward, they bound up and seemed a little rough.

We sell those to. The only thing I don't like about them is sometimes they will fray on you. I like using the later model stock rubber ones Last edited by mbgmike; 02-05-2010 at 06:59 PM. |

Re: Door Wire Looms
I used a kit by Specialty Power Windows. Reasonably priced and "easy" to install. Also, they are wound stainless so no issues with fraying.
