Should i use my 67-71 or 72 bb mounts

i have a set of both, the 71 and earlier BB mounts and a set of nice 72 specific, using them in my 71 stepper with a 454. Just wondering what everyone with a BB's thoughts are.
thanks
Glen

I like the '71's. I don't know why, I just do.

Unless your doing a 100 point resto I personally would sell both pairs, put a few hundred dollars in your pocket then go purchase a 73 and up set for $20 at the local wrecking yard and use those.

Re: Should i use my 67-71 or 72 bb mounts

I have a '67 stepper on a '69 frame with a '73 454 and I am using the stock 454 mounts. They worked out great. I am running a SM465 behind the mostly stock 454.

With my engine and transmission setup I did have to drill some new holes to get everything to work with the headers I am using.

Re: Should i use my 67-71 or 72 bb mounts

Thanks guys, i'm going to just use the 72 mounts, i paid alot for them when i thought i was doing a complete resto, but now that i've changed my mind on the build, i'll just use them, as i won't get my money back out of them and sell the older style ones.
