Help needed in Columbus Ohio

Hey guys,
Two very good friends of mine (Todd and Maria) are in need of some help, They both are long haul truck drivers with a company truck and are stuck in Columbus. (Both are from Libby Montana).

Todd had to have emergency triple bypass surgery on Tues and pretty much will unable to do anything for a while, To make matters worse the company they work for is coming to pick up their Semi truck/home in the next day or two.
Maria is thinking about purchasing a SUV to drive back home but is not very savvy when it comes to mechanics.

Is there anyone in the Columbus area that has something for sale?? or would be willing to help her out looking a a prospective SUV and possibly looking it over to make sure what ever vehicle purchased is road worthy of a 2000 mile trip??

She has a budget of $2500 - $3000

If anyone can help PM me for her contact details

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Help needed in Columbus Ohio

I wish I could figure a way to help.

Any company worth it's salt would get the driver home.

Start a Go Fund Me page. Maybe you could get her budget up a little.

Maria did look into that, the cost was just over $1800 for a one way rental so to her it made sense to purchase something, drive it home then sell it.

Re: Help needed in Columbus Ohio

Here you go

I’ll bet they will sell it for $3 grand
They just updated the ad
Low miles, should make it
And I’ll bet she could sell it for $2500 easy when she gets home

I checked that out. What do you do with a rental car when you are finished with it in Libby Montana.

Re: Help needed in Columbus Ohio

I rented a car and drove to Billings last year and I think it was around $550. $1,800 sounds high.

I know one way rental gets upcharged. Man I wish I could help. If it was go to Ohio and bring them back east I'd be hitting the road. What a raw deal on the company's behalf. Can't wrap my head around that. That Mazda might be the way to go. Something they can lay out in, and decent mpg. Only 44k on it, too

A flight is only $262 to $408, might be a better idea than 32 hours estimated driving.

Plus a car there may be rusty where you may not see it clearly.

Flight sounds like a good deal but her husband may not be cleared to fly right away. Bus maybe?

I showed that ad to Maria, she said that one wouldn't work due to how low it is to the ground, Todd could get in but she would not be able to help him to get out, She is hoping for something like a Pathfinder, 4 runner, Durango, Tahoe etc.

That's a good question, I have no idea.

I feel the same way about the company, at this moment she still has the Semi so things could change, Hopefully they can work things out, it would be the simplest solution as the Semi Has a "small apt" with a kitchenette, shower toilet etc on the back

Flying would be the quickest, the only issue is since the Semi truck has been their home they have about 500lbs of gear/personal belongings they would have ship home.

I'm not sure about clearance to fly or not, I'll mention a bus..

Thanks to all for the suggestions
