Ly6 an 4l80e going in my 65

Hey guys
I just picked up a 2008 ly6 and a 4l80e that was out of a Savana van and I’m going to swap it in my 65 c10 short bed . Have a few questions. My truck is pretty low 2.5” drop spindle an -2” spring in front and bags in rear .
I’d like to know what engine mounts/tranny cross member work the best for these trucks ? Also oil pan ? I’ve done some searching and looks like the gm performance muscle car pan should do the trick. Also headers haven’t found much info on what guys are using that’s not crazy money ?
Trying to keep a low budget on this build but I know how things add up in a hurry . I’m going to tear this thing down an hopefully only do a light hone an rings and a better cam and springs , car intake/injectors an seal it back up .
Thanks in advance for any help . These ls are all new to me lots to learn

Doug Thorley for headers
You use the stock perches and dirty Dingo sliders
Tranny you should be able to use the stock one but CPP sells an inexpensive one too.
Oil pan is a good choice.

Good luck!

Anybody run the sanderson headers on the 60-66 trucks ? Hows fitment with the newer series trannys? Price wise there alot cheaper than Dougs headers I might try a set

Did you have to do any mods to the trans tunnel for the 4l80 to fit? What motor mounts and trans cross member and mount did you use?

Re: Ly6 an 4l80e going in my 65

Looks good! with the dirty dingo sliders and stock perches in the v8 location did you have any clearance issues on the the passenger side back of head/coil pack to cab. i am running similar setup and it is tight at that point.

Re: Ly6 an 4l80e going in my 65

Thought I’d update what I got for numbers after a tune and some dyno time . 380 hp at the wheels and 356 ft/torque. Decent numbers for just a cam, ls3 intake and 17/8” headers

Re: Ly6 an 4l80e going in my 65

I did a LS1,4L60 swap out of a 2001 police Yukon in 2002 into my 65 C10, back then I had to fabricate mounts & wiring, no kits were available back then. The 4 biggest mistakes I made was using CPP parts when upgrading suspension & 5 lug 11" disk brake conversion, they wear out fast and usually don't fit right, the other mistakes was using VintageAir and Quik AC compressor brackets, so avoid CPP, VintageAir, Quik brackets, also avoid all "digital" dashes. Do not use anything wireless in the cab; wireless devices emit toxic EMF radiation and is very harmful in a metal cab. I'd like to get a short wheel base 64-66 C10 panel truck next, but I'm getting too old to work on cars now.
