Jumped in feet 1st

My brother has our pops '78 stepper.
After 40 years of use and abuse, well more like 30 years 4 of which where by a high school kid.
Dad passed in '07 and it has sat ever since.

Well a few weeks ago we decided it was time.
And then this happened.

And upon further inspection the '78 frame didnt fare to well.
Cracked by steering box which we expected.
But was nearly broke in half by the crossmember
And around the rear shock pins.

Hmmmmmmm little bit more than a clean and buff out. You should be able to find a decent replacement frame if you don't want to weld that one up. Nice start on it, square steps are great rides. Be looking forward to seeing your progress on it.

Re: Jumped in feet 1st

We have a replacement frame as of last weekend.
I got the photos in the wrong order.
Frame was built in 11-76 so should be a straightforward swap.

Re: Jumped in feet 1st

Found a few more before it was blown apart.

Some neat details that made it a pre runner

Me too.
Glad my brother has finally decided to redo this truck.
My father me and my brother have owned it at one point.
I own his '68 as well just bought it back a year ago.
