the steering wheel doesn't bother me, nor do the headlights...it's this tacky crap that makes me pee my pants in laughter, though:

oh, and whats up with the fenderwell gap? that thing looks like a 4x4 from the side!

They may be different, but they are only personalizing them like we do...

Thumbs down

I think you are ALL right. The dual headlights, although bizarre, does show some skill.

On the other hand, the tonneau with air-net and the fake flooring is MAJOR cheese.

And it only takes a little cheese to cover up a LOT of hard work!

I swear you guys are like a bunch of old women...the guy obviously put a lot of work into his ride...tried to be original and did a nice job...but NO..you have to slam him at every turn..as far as these trucks becoming so rare.....you ought to come to my neck of the woods...you cant swing a cat with out hittin 5 or 6 of our trucks every hour...I mean if I take a 10 minute drive,,I see 4 or 5 different 67-72 trucks

I think it's called expressing an opinion. One customizes for one reason only, to be different and to call attention to the object customized. Not all attention will be positive...and yes he/she did an nice job (at being original).

IMO, I don't think there is any more harm in posting (or commenting on) something you find off-beat or distasteful than there is in posting something you really like. I would draw the line at berating the individual directly rather than the truck, but I read no comment like that.

I think one of the things that provokes so many comments is the same thing that makes this board so great and that is every one of us really likes these trucks regardless of what form we wish to mold them into.

I agree with CPNE. I am all for customizing one's vehicle, when I'm out of college and have the money, I plan on customizing my own truck. But, I plan on keeping the original bodylines and style of the truck, like Stacey is on the Copperhead truck. These trucks look great from the factory, and are meant to have the round headlights, it fits the style. You won't be able to see many modifications from the exterior, because then it would detract from the look of the truck. I do however recognize he put a lot of work into it and I applaud his (or his builder's if he had someone else do it) ability, but I don't have to like the results just because he accomplished it.
