MII Strut Rod Eliminators???

I have an early style MII IFS and my tires hit the strut rods limiting my turning radius, I was curious if anyone had installed strut rod eliminators?

I found this set up and was wondering if anyone had tried this.

This is a picture of the IFS and strut rod that was installed in my truck when I got it. Anyone recognize the manufacturer? I was told it was an early Fatman Fab. set-up???

Re: MII Strut Rod Eliminators???

That add on piece in the link you posted looks like it would put a lot of stress on the cross member in the area of the bolt that the control arm pivots on. That is unless you ran a brace from the end of the bolt up to the frame to support it.

I plan to run pretty much what you have now on mine but my wheels and tires aren't nearly as wide so I shouldn't have a problem.

Mr48Chevy,

I agree with you regarding the stress on the side of the crossmember.

So do you have a similar IFS to mine?
What manufacturer made yours?

I bought mine this way and I have no idea what any of the parts on my truck are from.

Re: MII Strut Rod Eliminators???

To add to our post earlier
Our Mustang lower a-arm that
replaces the stock lower a-arm
you are showing above.
comes with
1. 1 1/8 solid 1018 bar cross tube
that is 8 inches long.
You will drill a 1 1/8 hole in your
lower crossmember. Our cross tube will slide thru your lower hole you just drilled and stick out 2 inches
perside on both sides of the crossmember.

Then our Scotts lower a-arm will bolt
on to the crosstube you just installed and welded in.

One more thing our lower a-arm
will have two cnc machined rodends
that secure our a-arm to the crossmeber.
You will have more caster and camber adjustment.
Doing it this way is bullet proof.
The price of this kit
$397.50
one more thing 100%tig welded

Thankyou,
Justin

Scottshotrods,

Thanks for the information Jason, your companies setup sounds very strong. Do you have a picture or diagram to show the finished product?
