77 - 82 k5 blazer front clip swap

allright so i saw a post on this sight that made me really want to try this swap, and my buddy had an entire front end for 50 dollars, no pics or during but here are the before and after shots

that front end was pretty much toast, it was missing most of the bolts the wiring harness needed to be completely redone, there was a ratsnest of wiring, and then came the idea of square headlights, and a front clip came available so we decided to try heres the end result

the tires and light rack were removed for painting and rollaround purposes but will be going back on soon hopefully!

Looks good. Did you have to modify the cowl to mount the newer style hood hinges? If so, do you have any pictures of this area?

Re: 77 - 82 k5 blazer front clip swap

sorry man i didnt have any time while doing it to take pics, but yeah there was a little bit of custom work but its only about 4 inches of added metal and suport on each side theres actually a thread on this site that has pretty much step by step directions and pictures but i cant remember where.... wich is where i got the idea from, youll need the cowl and hood release cable from your donor truck or you can pick them up from the local scrap yard

That's what I figured, I hadn't found a thread about the swap. I'll search for it some more.
Thanks for the info.
