TH350 NP205 Adapter Sleeve Coupler

Looking for some help on my 1972 K10, 350, TH350, NP205 Adapter. I want to get a new bearing and sleeve in the adapter but they seem hard to come by for older style. Can I use a newer style sleeve without the bearing and just have it float on seals? Trying to find another solution if unable to find original style bearing and sleeve.

The replacement couplers eliminate the bearing in the adapter (no you don't need it in there). I replaced mine (TH350/NP205) and took the bearing out, put new seals in and has been fine for 5 years. Typically when the trans fluid leaks into the transfer case you need new seals. Here is a picture of my old adapter and the removed bearing. That is good to hear, I was concerned the adapter bearing setup was required for alignment and sealing. Thanks

I have this nos coupler never installed. Purchased it on line anticipating the need for it but never did have the need to change it
