Any plans for the RAZORBACK? You gonna reuse it or sell it off?

I would love to sell it but shipping probably makes it impractical. Another guy on here was interested in it. He was from Canada and the shipping estimated out to almost $150. Still interested?

Yes it's a non-mortise style hinge. You can find them at home depot or lowes

The spring load on the hinge is pretty strong but as always with those types of hinges you have a little play in the assembly. I just ordered some 13lb magnetic catches. These should do the trick. I will post pics of the install

What is the plan with your motor and tranny? Is this a freshen up overhaul or a mod. Engine compartment clean-up. Love it lookin good. Thanks for the pics of the tank mount, mine is under way now. Where are you now exitting your exhuast now since the tank install?

Thanks for the compliments. The engine is getting a towing cam, new high volume oil pump' new intake, 4 barrel carb, new valve covers and headers. I will check the mains and do a leak down test once I have it out since she does have 100'000. When done she should be putting out close to 400hp. The exhaust will exit just in front of the rear wheels. With the lowered stance and the new gas tank I didn't want the exhaust running out back.

Just noticed the hitch receiver below the plate. Mine is like that as well. One of my buddies has his mounted behind the license plate and uses a spring loaded plate (from a car that had a behind the plate fuel fill). Changing that is on the "long list" for my truck.

You're really kicking butt on this thing! Great work man.

Thanks man!

I wanted to do a hidden hitch but I couldn't find one with a class V rating. I had one on my 96 half ton. It was mounted up behind the roll pan. The way i look at it is this truck is all about towing so might as well let the hitch hang out there

Re: My 84 CC Dually mod thread - there will be plenty of pics

The motor is out. I also tore the engine down to a short block, did a leak down test and for an engine with almost 100k miles the worst hole was at 5% leak. The engine is in real good shape! No need to tear it any further, now time for new cam, timing chain, intake and carb along with new rockers, push rods, valve covers, etc.

I also started diving into the grille. I removed the stock grille and started prepping for the new phantom grille.

No Helper's!

Spring is not far away (3 months or so) and this truck needs to be road worthy to tow the boat. No time for milking it!

Nice work on the hinged tail light. I was trying to use the same style hinge to do mine, but I got flustered and decided to just put a fuel door at the back. I saw yours and felt showed up
maybe I'll try again later!
thanks for sharing!!

I won't lie to you it took a while to get it right and I have changed the design since I posted the pictures. I will need to post some new ones but it is now what I call a compound hinge meaning it has dual hinge points. It is harder to explain then show so I will snap some photos.

Thanks for the compliments
