Re: 1969 Olive Stepper

Woo Hoo! Got her running tonight! Hit off on the first try. That never happens to me. But I was trying to be extra prepared so I could get that cam shaft and lifters broken in. (man that was the longest 20 minutes of my life) Kept waiting for something to pop. But went very well. Let her cool down than I changed the oil, set the timing and let her run bit more. Very smooth and quiet. Just how I like em! Got a drip coming from my lower heater core hose. Hopefully it just the connection and not the new heater core (That would Suck!) Got the mirrors on tonight and picked up my inner door panels. So I should have the side glass in soon!

Maiden Voyage!

Took her for a spein around the block. Good thing I didnt go too far, fuel inlet on carb was dripping. Runs and sounds very well! I got the Drivers seat belt installed last night, than called it a night early. Ill get the pass in today and Ill get some pics up. These are some custom belts I had made and I am very happy with them!

Love the truck, love the color. Same color as my 1971 Cheyenne. I would love to find a truck like yours with a straight six.

Keep up the awesome work.

Re: 1969 Olive Stepper

Thanks Guys. I promise to post the Paint code as soon as I get it. The painters giving me the left over paint. It is aPPG two stage color and we had a hard time finding it.

Heres a few pics of my seatbelts. I ordered 3 Point retractables from Seatbelt solutions with New 69 GM buckles and latches installed at no extra charge. (From seatbelt solutions.) I also got a center lap belt made. Im pretty happy, since I wasnt happy about using non originals to begin with. But gotta think of my sons safety first!

I polished the scratches out of the Lenses on a towel at my kitchen table by hand. (micro fiber rad and McGuires rubbing compound)

Other than that the gauges are un touched and the bezel is new.

Re: 1969 Olive Stepper

Do you have any plans to bring it to the cruise in's or is it going to be your daily driver.

Well its kinda funny really. My daily driver is provided by my company. when I had a stripped P/U with Roll down windows I went out and bought a loaded vette to escape from the work truck every now and then. Later they gave me a fully loaded Aspen and I sold the vette. Now Im building a stripped down truck. Kinda funny.

But in all seriousness. My dad had a 67 Stepper 6cyl 3spd in dark green. I remember driving through the country on weekends with no particular destination in mind. So I wanted to share that with my son. Its gonna be the we'll be right back were gonna go get bagels (2 hrs later) truck that I can hopefully leave to him someday. Ill probably take in a show every now and than too.

Hey Blkcovair, who did your sticker for the glovebox door. My son thought it would be cool when we get new one to do it as the truck is now with all the new parts and paint. Thanks

Ask and you shall receive
http://www.outintheshop.com/

He does great work. He can make it as original (Or not original) as you would like. But his labels are way better than those chepos repops for sale and his font is spot on.
