Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, and I'm restoring a 69 Chevy C10 from the ground up. I'm a little ways from actually painting but I wanted to throw this out there to see if anyone knew what color this was. Here is the link:

Also, what are your personal thoughts as far as a Kick "A" color for an old C10??

Possibly a custom color. Kia has a color that looks similar, maybe a bit lighter. search for kia sorento maroon to see pictures. Also, Toyota has a nice, dark color they use on Scion models. It's hard to compare with the flourescent lighting but the Scion color might be a touch bluer.

You might get more attention in the 69-72 forum.

cadillac 2010 cts has a black cherry that might be close if it was in sunlight.

kinda looks like what my moms truck was painted and the guy called it beer bottle brown

I guess some monitors see it different,but I don't see any brown. It looks like a black cherry/deep maroon on my computer,and the listing says it's maroon. We can only guess the exact color tell,if it's not custom. It's a nice color.

I had a 93 Vette that was a lot like that color. Chevy called it Black Rose. It may have bee a bit more purple than the truck in the pictures, but that's hard to tell.

My truck is factory maroon. The truck pictured is definitely not that color.

It's also quite possible that that truck has a multi-stage paint, like some sort of deep red candy clear over a black, or something similar. Without talking to whoever painted it, it's almost impossible to say if it's not factory.

as far as what looks good, that's a very personal question. one of my favorites I have only seen once. when I was really young (~4-6) my grandmother's yard guy had a '68 or '69 C10 that was a factory two tone red (burgundy or maroon) over gray, and I've yet to see another with that paint scheme. This is about the closest thing I can find.
