FYI Fuel lines

I had to replace the plastic fuel lines on a '94 Bravada with a CPI 4.3 over the weekend. These are the lines that run from the steel lines on the rear of the intake manifold to the spider. The original lines cracked and were allowing fuel to leak into the manifold.

This condition causes poor drivability and decreased fuel economy. This condition can be diagnosed with a fuel pressure gauge. Turn the key on, fuel pressure should be normal. Turn key off, fuel pressure drops to zero within a few seconds.

When changing these lines, you must make sure the lines are fully seated into the spider and clipped in. If not the lines will be forced out and the engine will hydro lock from the fuel (ask me how I know). Put the lines on and cycle the key before you put the upper plenum back on to make sure the lines hold.

The lines can be purchased from GM and some parts stores. Napa had them locally for about $70.
