Glove box install for a '66 Chevy truck

When I installed mine I put the top screws in first. Then pulled it into the slot on the bottom. Getting the top screws in was the hardest part for me.

Does the sides of the glove box liner go behind the bracket that the door swings off

The replacement does not fit perfectly, you will have some gaps so it's normal..

from my experience the brand you got will fit great /i got a repops if fact 3 of them -all of them was frayed on the edges and would not fit -last one i bought came from "classis " in kc missouri and fit like a glove -even with my factory air !!!! im thinking the ones of "repops" was on sale from the vendors and probably was returns or severly "shelf worn" but price was cheaper ??so if you buy any always get a good look before buying !

I have now completed the glove box install and I am quite happy with the end result, some of the areas around the fitment of the liner could have been better but as my son would say 'It is what it is'. Thanks to all who replied to my thread especially Bret (bj383ss) for the photos, they were a big help. I think we can put this to bed now,

How many bumpers did you install? Look under these two areas and you will find a hole for a bumper there on each side. The door hits the bumpers when it opens all the way.

Glad I could help. I have received countless number of times being helped on this site and I can finally pay something back. Are you going to post some pictures of your glovebox? Then you can put it to rest. HEHE.

I resin coated mine before I installed it...fiberglass resin for strength and water proofing.

Looks like it's installed behind the dash metal on the first pic and behind the hinge bracket on the second pic. Am I seeing that? or no?

hey guys while all of you are posting pics and i do much much better with seeing things than reading LOL brain issues :P anyway my glove box door is not bent or damaged in anyway but yet the door and the bottom rubs the bottom of the dash and binds up badly! what am i doing wrong here? and also can you guys show me how to install said door maybe im doing that wrong? thanks guys!

Here's an interesting aside. My truck is a GMC. I wanted to do away with the Deluxe heater in the engine bay and I installed the basic recirculating heater inside on the firewall. When I went to install my new glove box the other day it wouldn't fit. It was hitting the heater. I had to trim about 2" off the back and reshape the cut-off and staple it on. Had to use my air stapler and bend the legs over. The cardboard is too weak to bend or hammer them flat so I had to use the needle nose and twist them over. They must have had two glove box options back in the day for those with the basic heater.

im confused here moe where you addressing me in this? cause my glove gox looks like the Op,s yours looks waaaaay different than ours. LOL and im looking for help with how the door mounts to our style glove box totally not trying to be a jerk at all here im just very confused

Could i please get some pics and some info on how to install the Glove box door? i have been asking in this post but it seems like im not being seen cause im not getting anything from anyone on this LOL my glove box door wont open nicely it wedging it self againts the bottom of the dash. and nothing is bent so i cant figure it out! maybe im installing it wrong? can you please help me ?

RocknRod i put it behind the bracket on mine i think that is how it goes but im having issues with how to properly install the glove box door as mine on the bottom of the door is binding against the bottom of the dash board and nothing is bent so i cant figure that out but as far as the box sleeve i have no probs with it being behind the bracket im sure that is how it was meant to go! now i cant help but feel like im installing the door wrong tho because of how bad its binding
