old school dually

After 6 months of searching i found this sweet 86 dually with only 52,000 miles on it (it came to canada from cali. in 99).It will pull our trailer and be my driver when the weather sucks and i can't drive the burb. I think it is straight out of the 90's the only thing missing is the pro street tires for that phantom dually look.

Sweet truck. I would remove the wing though. You will probably get 2-3 MPG better fuel economy without it.

Re: old school dually

i agree with pyrotechnic remove the wing.. perhaps donate it to some poor stupid little kid who could put it on the honda they have and they would get another sixty horsepower ( with the proper decals of course)
it is a nice truck tho

You guys are so right, the wing came off the day after i got it home(good idea selling it to a honda kid)I removed the fog lights and tube grill.New billet grill is going back on.Still thinking about the visor and running boards? I plan on dropping it 3/5.I think that should do the trick.

Re: old school dually

I like it. I would leave the visor as I like the "big truck look." those running boards I also like but they do hold salt and cause rust. It is a really nice truck you got there. 454 or 6.2? Th400, 700r4, or 4 speed?

Re: old school dually

Its got a 454 with a built 400, runs real nice just needs a few little things tuned up like the power windows and such.

I vote for removing the visor, running boards and the airdam under the front bumper... Cool truck, btw...

Re: old school dually

I think that air dam is next on the chopping block i am trying to find a stock one to replace it.I am not not going to lower it until i get the burb back on the road for summer.the motor is going back in this weekend. the firewall is all smooth and shiny now. i will post some pics once i get it all back together.I think for the dually i will use bell tech spindles up front and not to sure about the back yet.
