drop kits

Anyone have a drop kit on their new '08 or '09 chevy? My friend just bought a new truck and is looking to remove some of the space between the body and the road. How do you like the ride quality of your drop kit?

Re: drop kits

don't know if your friend has done the drop yet, but it depends on what type of suspension they have on their truck. p/u's have leaf spring and it's lowered by getting new shackles; that should lower it 2" or so... i'm lowering my lanche's tall rear, but i have coils, so i'll be getting new coils. as far as the ride is concerned, it shouldn't change it if they're just swapping out the shackles; but i heard in my case the new coils will be slightly stiffer. and the lower i go, the more stiff it will be.
