Couple of questions

I have a 400cui small block in my 68 c10. Its had edlebrook performance heads 6073 fitted with edelbrook inlet and 4 barrel holley carb. Any ideas on the power difference this might be.
Also i have the dash light cluster, is it a matter of plug and plag to change over to all gauges.
Thanks

Re: Couple of questions

If you mean power diff from a stock 400, it's maybe 30-45 additional hp, primarily because of the head swap. The improvement depends what spec 400 those bolt ons were bolted to.

Not plug and play but very doable for the instrument cluster swap - take a look here:

Re: Couple of questions

What year and model did the 400 come out of? That would have a bearing on cam and compression ratio, which is going to have a big effect on how much power you produce.

Re: Couple of questions

I believe the engine when i did a decoder on the engine number came from a 73 van. I havnt the number to hand to check. Im not sure on what was changed internally on the engine..feels torquey as hell. May have to stick it on a rolling road. Been told ran 13s 1/4 mile. Its got a th400 fitted with camaro 10 bolt rear.
Ive not long owned it so just trying to get some info with stripping it apart.
Thanks for the info on the dash swap.

The 400 SBC was built for torque. Those heads will certainly help.

Re: Couple of questions

Why no upgraded cam to go with the heads and intake? You are not getting all of the added performance without one.
