need pics of '74 part-time t-case shifter

Looking through my '74 shop manual the pictures for the part time (NP205) transfer case show a pointer clipped onto the shift lever that points down at the shift pattern. Does anyone have a picture of one of these on their trucks?

Re: need pics of '74 part-time t-case shifter

Yeah, I know, the '72 and older only had it on the shift knob. My '74 manual shows it on the knob and having a metal plate screwed to the hump cover just like a truck equipped with a NP203 does. Here is the page I was talking about. The arrow is pointing at the part I'm looking for.

I'll go take a look at my 78 in a few minutes to see if it has what you are looking for and post some pics if it does.

Re: need pics of '74 part-time t-case shifter

My 78 Scottsdale NP205 shifter does not have the pointer. Maybe it was a Silverado thing or it just gets broken off really easily. My truck has less than 72,000 miles on it with no signs of the indicator.

I have never seen one of those pointers. Doesn't look overly sturdy to me.

Re: need pics of '74 part-time t-case shifter

I wouldn't think one would have lasted this long either but just in case I figured I'd ask and see if anyone had seen one or had one on their truck.
I'm not aware of this being on any trucks newer than '74, just because I don't have factory books for those years.
