Fan and Clutch Info

Does anyone have information on what Heavy Duty Clutch Fan I should use with a 7 blade 18 inch fan. I looked at FAQ section = zip. The Truck Shop in Orange shows them in their catalog but no manufacturers part numbers.
I'm using a stock V8 fan shroud, short water pump, AC, Automatic. I'll even have I.O.L.

Either the Hayden 2747 or 2797. More info here...

I'm using the Hayden 2747 in my 64 C10 with 350, short water pump, and 7-blade fan. I also use the exact same set up in my 65 Impala.

No sweat, you're welcome. Also, I got my Hayden fan clutch on Amazon. Cheapest price I could find, no tax, and free shipping to Amazon Prime members.

Ya I joined Amazon and don't find the prices better than eBay on the same seller and I did upgrade also. So I guess it's all what system you want to buy from.
I'm thinking the 2797 is where I'm headed.
Thank you again.

Re: Fan and Clutch Info

That linked thread with posters talking about the noise it makes doesn't bother you? I use the 2747 here in central CA where we have plenty of triple digit days and have no problems even in traffic with the a/c on. Sometimes I hear the fan but not too bad.

Re: Fan and Clutch Info

I used the 2797 in my 69 Chevelle with 496. I've since sold the car, but it didn't make any noise that was offensive. Drove it that way for years.

Re: Fan and Clutch Info

I recently put a mechanical fan setup back on my '65 and used a 17" 6-blade fan and a Hayden 2747 clutch. This is on a mild 355 using a long pump, custom shroud, and an aluminum 4-row radiator. It does fine everywhere except for idling in gear for long periods. I ordered a 2797 clutch to replace the 2747 with and hopefully help with the heating up at idle issue I'm having.

I am using the Hayden extreme duty...I found a 7 blade Cadillac fan with
3 inch pitch and it really made a difference when idling for long periods in traffic here in Texas with ac on. Noise does not bother me...as long as it stays cool...nothing worse than overheating. I think the fan came from a 79 Cad Seville.
