carb problem?
I have a 69 c10 with a 350 with a 650 edelbpock carb i changed the stock fuel pump and it runs great but when i increase the speed to 40 mph it feel like its not getting enough gas like its chocking can i get some input please.

Sounds like it’s starving.
Is your fuel pump good? Are there any pinches in your fuel lines? Are the “tank internals” in good operations shape? Did you change anything else at the same time as the carb? If you can, put the original carb back on , and see if the problem is still there. If it goes away, then it’s the new carb. Lastly, is it in fact a “New in Box” carb, or a rebuild? |

It could also be the sock filter on the end of the pickup tube in the tank. I have seen a lot of nasty plugged up ones. Or the fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump may be partially plugged. LockDoc

are you sure its starving and not flooding edelbrock carbs tend to not like pressure a new fuel pump might just be pumping more than the old one and pushing past the needle

Yes, Edelbrocks do not like a lot of fuel pressure; no more than 6. Edelbrock recommends either their Perfomer RPM fuel pump, or an inline regulater set to 5.5, or else they flood. They also need a heat insulator gasket. They get hot and percolate the fuel, which causes hard starting issues. You definitely need to check your fuel sock, filter, and fuel lines to be sure there's no restrictions. Also, what is your timing like?
