1990 454 SS redesign

Hello all just sharing one of my projects. Also have some square bodies. Anyhow working on getting my 454 SS just how I want it. Going for a factory(ish) update. Started off with adding some Camaro SS wheels. It's got a lifter that is starting to hammer so I guess motor next. Planning on some exterior updates and new paint.

The wheels have some pretty good scuffs on them so was thinking of either powder coating them black or just redoing the silver finish. What do you guys think?

Those Camaro wheels actually look very good on there! Looks like the fitment is just about perfect too. Might have to find a set of those for my C1500 project. Looks good!

Did you have to use adapters?

Those wheels look so awesome on these trucks. I would either redo the silver or maybe paint them a medium gray.

Very cool!

Did you change the bolt pattern, adapters, or what?

Might consider this for my 98.

Re: 1990 454 SS redesign

Yes I had to use adapters with the following specs:
5x5 to 5x120mm
47mm spacing in the front (need that to clear the hubs)
44mm spacing in the rear
14x1.5 studs
I did hub centric to the truck and to the wheels (much more expensive for adapters, almost double the price). This required me trimming the inside of my adapters and the outside of the hubs on the truck to get them to fit it not stick out another 1/4 inch. Suppose you don't have to run hub centric to the wheels but I like it to reduce vibrations.
Truck hub is 78.3mm
Camaro wheel hub is 66.9mm
I used Motorsport Tech for the adapters.

Rims look great, re do the silver or a gun metalish grey and a 2 to 3 inch drop would make it fantastic.

Re: 1990 454 SS redesign

I'm looking at going a little lower. I'm worried about the front tire pushing up into the front fender since the tire sticks out slightly pass the front half of the fender. Seeing as it sticks out a little rolling the fenders would do nothing for me. I suppose I could widen the fenders but I'm not sure it would look right. So I'm looking at maybe another inch in the front and an inch and half maybe two in the rear.
