1994 1500 Rear Brake Adjustment

Hi,
I just put rear brake shoes on my 1994 c1500. The owners manual says that they are self adjusting, I just put the truck in reverse and press the brake pedal hard several times. Is this all of the adjusting I need to do to make the truck road worthy again? Thanks for any advice.

Did you do a rough adjustment when you installed the shoes? (Did you adjust them by turning the "star" so that the drum fit snug around them?) If so, then yes!

Thanks for the reply, Three Quarter. Yes, I did adjust the star so that there was a little "drag". Put the truck in reverse and did what the owners manual said to do. I guess I did everything correct after all!
