Steering wheel/shaft gap

I bought a new wheel and adapter from LMC, after installation there is a serious gap over an inch between the wheel and the top of the shaft where it should sit more flush. Is there a way to solve this issue, anyone else have this issue? It's a Grant wheel and adapter. Thanks in advance.
Mike

Re: Steering wheel/shaft gap

Hmm, of all the things I considered the issue it never occurred to me it might be the adapter! I'm sure I ordered the correct one, but... Thanks for that heads up.

The front and rear bumpers are from Chassis Unlimited out of Livermore CA. Super nice, solid and fit well. They are not cheap, but they offer free shipping and regularly have 20% off sales on inventory.

Re: Steering wheel/shaft gap

I just went out and took a picture of my wheel and adapter. I realize it's not the same wheel, but you'll get an idea of how thick the adapter should be.
Good luck.

Thanks Hemi43, pictures always help. Is your wheel and adapter from Grant/LMC as well, just a different style? You don't happen to remember the adapter part number do you?
Thanks again.

I bought it from Bill's trucks and it's just a standard replacement wheel. go to page 14 on the link below and you can see all the parts and numbers of what's available.
