Re: What HEI ?

I put a factory HEI (unknown donor) in my '72 K20 a long time ago. Not a lot of room for sure, but it does fit. Had to remove the cap to install the dist., though...

You might have to use a kit like this or something similar. http://www.hot-spark.com/

Re: What HEI ?

FWIW, I've got an HEI dist in my truck from a 79 camaro. It is very close to the firewall, but does not touch, or show signs of rubbing. I had to customize a screwdriver to fit so that i can tighten and loosen the 4 twist locks that hold the cap on.

Re: What HEI ?

I just got done putting an HEI in my 72 K20,, I had to take out the bolt that holds the heater box from inside the cab and put 4 or 5 washers on it so the cap would clear.
That was the only obstacle that I encountered. Truck runs good. HEI, new wires, new coil ,new cap,and new plugs make a world of difference !! Rebuilding the Q-jet didn't hurt anything either !!

Take care everybody !!
