05 Silverado parts

I’ve just acquired an 05 regular cab long bed Silverado 3500. I payed 1000 for it in running driving condition. 187xxx Miles. I initially got it to do an 8.1/Allison swap in my 57 3100 4x4. My question is (and this is in no way a for sale ad) if I robbed the engine trans and associated swap parts could there be enough money left in the rest of the truck to come close to breaking even or at least get half back? I haven’t parted a 99-06 before thus I don’t really know the market. I’m more into the 72 down trucks and parts. I’m trying to decide whether to part it out or just sell it off complete and make a few dollars on it. Ive got an 8.1 in my wife’s suburban and I love the torque.
Thanks

I would say making at least half your money back is a an achievable goal. it mainly depends on condition of body panels and other parts, and also it depends on what you might want to keep besides the 8.1/Allison.

I say become a subscribing member a post a parts for sale ad and see how much interest there is.
Plus you are helping support the board.
It costs on $25/ year or $15/ 6 months.
Well worth it.

I’ve been a subscribing member most of the time I’ve been on here, I’ve been meaning to re up my subscription. I suppose this is the perfect time. All I plan to keep is the 8.1/Allison, and all related swap parts. Minus some dents in the bedsides the body is straight and all there. I may keep the disk brake 14 bolt as well but I’ve already got a couple of them laying around so maybe not.

Re: 05 Silverado parts

I guess the big question is, is it 4x4 or 2x4 ? if it is 4x4 the stinking transfer case if worth about 800-1200 $ by it self.

Good to know because it’s manual shift 4x4. I’ve rebuilt a few of these 261(3)s and this one looks to be in good shape no pump rub and the fluid is clean. I’m gonna ditch it for an extra np 205 I’ve got laying around.
