Correct, not a SPRINT car. They had a better cam, headers, intake, and 4 barrel carb, they had 215 HP vs 165. This car is the 165 horse single barrel version.

The 17" Pontiac Rally II's I want are $$$. It will be a long time before they get swapped, they're low on my priority list.

The guy's name is Randall, and I bet it's probably the same guy. Dark green '69 FB with a 400 THM; has done a whole electronic dash and uses Raspberry Pi to program it all. He came to one of our Buick meetups a few years ago in that car. Some ridiculous speeds and a low diff, but he still got some pretty good mileage.
Yep, looks to be the same car, green 69 bird, his board name is even "The Silver Buick":

My dad had lots of these cars when I was a kid. The white one you see a pic of was, unfortunately, the last running one and the motor blew around 1989/90, when I was 8 or 9. It dawned on me when I was taking it around the block that I had never actually driven a first gen camaro or bird before as much as I love the cars. Ridden in them a ton, steered 'em around the yard behind a tractor, but never driven one. My first thought was, man, I hope it doesn't suck.

My dad has a pic holding me on the fender when I was only a few months old. It was his red 68. By far the nicest one he ever had. He sold it around 1985 for a down payment for the house my parents still live in.

I agree and for now it will stay in the car as long as it runs good. *Supposedly* it was recently rebuilt, bored 0.040 with machine work and new pistons, but I always take that with a grain of salt. It runs like hot garbage right now, but the fuel pump is leaking and the carb is leaking gas everywhere possible, and I'm pretty sure the PCV is missing. As long as the motor passes a compression test and I can get it running good, I want the car to be a driver for a couple years.

Re: I hate tailgaters!!!

I had a tailgater once!
He wasn’t on a trailer nor attached to my bumper!
‘‘Twas my younger brother drafting at speed. About a foot between us I suspect.
Him driving a 67 GTX, me a 69 Charger.
We switched places a few times.
Awesome rush when you finally pull out to pass. Like floating on air!
Done on a deserted stretch of highway with only a gopher or two as witnesses!
Seems like yesterday but was 45 years ago!
Drafting!
You gotta do it once in your lifetime! LOL!!

I think you had those trucks backwards, that's OK, I'm a little lysdexic too

Geezer, that sounds awesome. The only time I've come close to that is trying to get someone going 55 in a 70 to move the hell out of the way

Since Shawn likely isn't reading this I'll say it. For a short while I drafted a semi during that trip. It worked pretty good. Shawn didn't like it though. I'd never consider doing it again. And I kept about 20' behind

Re: I hate tailgaters!!!

Back when I was a lot younger I was riding with a bud one night in his big block shortbed GMC when his brother passed us in his big block Chevy truck. Well the race was on then. They both matted them and we were running flat out inches off the other truck's bumper for several miles. I couldn't see the Chevrolet on the tailgate. It was late at night so there wasn't any traffic and we were well out of town. Those trucks were dead even. I don't remember just how fast we were running. North of 100 for sure. There was some drafting I guess. It wasn't the most intelligent thing they ever did but hell, they were like that. Those boys, I tell you what. I like going fast and all but not in those circumstances. We lived.
