Rear strut/coilsprings

Longtime lurker here, there's some awesome trucks and ideas on this website. I built and sold a rockcrawler because I fell in love with these AD trucks and decided i had to have one. I'll be starting the rear suspension on my '51 pickup restoration soon. It will be parallel 4 link on an 8.8 housing. After using the advanced search option to no avail, my question is.....has anybody used strut/coilsprings from any late model vehicle, passenger car, truck, etc....for their rear suspension setup? I appreciate any input.
