Donor Fuel Tank
Has anyone gotten a fuel tank off of a fuel injection vehicle that fits below the bed of a 63-72?

Re: Donor Fuel Tank
What I mean is a newer model tank that uses an internal pump.

Re: Donor Fuel Tank
I am using a later model Blazer tank. Believe it is a 1990. Much larger than the Blazer tanks from 69-72 and larger than most all aftermarket. I got the crossmembers and mounting straps as well as the factory skid plate. Crossmembers need modification to fit frame and it will hang lower than the previously mentioned tanks but I do not care as it is a 4x4. While I could swap the pump to a higher pressure/volume unit, will be modifying the tank to accept the newer stock PWM pump for my LSA. So stock sending unit minus the pump and the newer pump will be installed in the tank.

Re: Donor Fuel Tank
I did one in a '72 SWB. Used an '86 S10 Blazer tank. Had to trim the rails a little to make it fit.

Re: Donor Fuel Tank
Thanks guys.
That's exactly what I'm looking for. Something I can pull off of a newer vehicle. I have a 1995 f150 tank that I got for free, but it doesn't fit between the frame rails. I've been searching these forums. As I find stuff I'll post it here.

Re: Donor Fuel Tank
A Ford (or AMC or Chrysler) tank will have the wrong resistance for your level gauge. You want a GM tank unless you are using custom gauges.
