Rallies...

Hey guys, I have a set of (2)-15x7" and (2)-15x8" Rally wheels with 5x5 pattern that I blasted and had powder coated. They have the silver on them and then a clear over top for extra protection. All of them look like new except one of the 7" has some pitting and a small ding on the lip that I wasn't worried about because the trim ring was going to cover that area.. I attached pictures. What should I ask for if I sell them?

Re: Rallies...

A few months ago at a swap meet, I bought four decent 15x8 5-on-5 rallys for $125, including center caps and trim rings. I later bought a single (wheel only) for a spare tire for $20. The seller told me he can't get as much for them now as he did 10 years ago!

However, at the same swap meet a guy was asking $300 for a set of 4. Maybe those had new caps and rings. ???

I turned around and sold the four 6.5" van rallys that were on my truck for $110 including caps and rings. Guys like to use them on the front of slammed trucks for clearance.

Re: Rallies...

I've noticed the price of Rallies has dropped as well. Often see them for $100 or more if they have trim rings & caps.

Re: Rallies...

i could be mistaken. but it seems like "unrestored" 6-lug 4x4 rallies are usually closer to $100, but 5-lugs go for more and powdercoating adds quite a bit more cost too.

Re: Rallies...

I missed that they were powder coated. But you have to find a guy willing to pay extra, because proper prep, primer, and a few coats of silver paint works pretty well. I did that to the five wheels I bought.

Re: Rallies...

Problem is I have a good bit in them just on the Powder Coating.... I want to get them sold and clear up space in the shop, but I hate to take a beating on them.

Re: Rallies...

Someone on the board recently paid $800 for restored rally wheels. You are going to find prices all over the place, on this thread alone you have $60 as a low and $800 as a high. Price them where you need them priced and see what happens.
