72 Tilt column hazard light wiring

I have a 72 tilt column in my 65 Suburban, and I want to wire in the hazard lights if possible. I have a stock type dash harness and the wiring under the dash for the column has been spliced with butt connectors. Can I do this myself or should I have an auto electrician do the wiring? What other flashers or parts will I need to make the hazards work?
Thanks
