1990 jimmy issue

So I'm going to look at a 90 jimmy or is it a blazer I Dont Know. I'm sure it won't matter. But the guy says it idles fine in gear and neutral but as soon as you give it gas it cuts out. Any idea what it is sorry I don't have much more info right now. I'll try to get more info on engine and trans

Nope should be a 350 with a throttle body injection. Cutting out under load could be low fuel pressure(fuel pump in tank)

I vote first related to the fuel pump going bad or second the strainer sock being clogged with debris. Ther is always the chance that the injector is clogged/needs replacement but most likely the first one as previously stated.

Well the guy said its a carb set up I guess I will have to go check it out is there an easy way I access the fuel pump

Pull 2 bolts and drop the tank from underneath.

if its a carb, could be a filter issue.

does it rev up in neutral and park?

if so, that's your pickle.

I haven't seen it they guy seems like he's either annoyed with questions or just doesn't know. He said it idles good in gear an park but rev it it dies. I guess I'll have to go look at it

sounds like ignition. Plan on a full tune up.

1990 is TBI injection unless it's been raped and put back to a carb. if that;'s the case it will not pass emissions if it's applicable. It may be a TBI unit as a lot of people don;'t know the diff.
