cam gear to valve timing?

is the camshaft gear at 6 or 12 oclock when the 1 piston ( chevy small blk gen 1) is at TDC compression?

ok thanks I don't why I never noticed before . I just lined up the marks when I put the stick in and then watched the lifters. I never noticed the mark was 180 from where I started. Old dog still learnen.
