I've always thought it would be cool to french some later model Cadillac taillights into the rear stake pockets on a step-side.

take a look at a 78 chevy el camino rear bumper,the tail lights are in it,we cut the one one we used down welded it back togather and mounted as a rear bumper it looked really cool and really differant,sorry no pictures...

this isn't the best shot, but i removed my revers lights (also a 66 so they were standard) and welded the stock buckets into the holes. The holes are almost the same size so not a ton of modification is needed. Here a rough shot with some sealer that had to be sanded off.

you can kinda see how it sits on this one

I,m using the 50 Pontiac tail lights. I wanted them to stand away from the fender a little. I rolled a tube and welded a end on it cut a hole in the fender and welded it in. The picture does,nt show it but I have welded a rod around the tube to flow it into the fender better I would post a picture but it,s at the painters. I,m using the bed curl light I go them from Mar K.

those look good both frenched and protruded. I was hoping to find buckets online or something so I could be lazy about it lol, but knowing they are 50' pontiac helps substantially in getting started. thanks guys-

I really like the idea of frenching in a set of 93 Cadillac Seville taillights into the side panels at the rear of a stepside.

Might even look good if they were turned sideways and located under the tailgate.
