Can I do anything?

I have a Dana 44 closed knuckle front end. Steering sucks on my truck 67 GMC 4x4 longbed, its lifted. Is there anything I can do to get better steering. Besides swapping out axles. Im not opposed to doing an axle swap but would want to find one that didn't have me changing all kinds of stuff out to make it work. Any thoughts ??

Re: Can I do anything?

Take the leap and install an open knuckle Dana 44 front into your truck..you wont regret it! youll get much better turning radius and better braking..plus have an axle thats much easier to work on and get parts for.
Its pretty much a bolt in deal and depending on how much lift you have there wont be much of changing other parts..I would suggest a raised steering arm if your using 4" or more of lift..and find yourself a 71 -72 brake booster and prop valve from preferablly a 20 series truck.

X2 Thats exactly along the lines of what I was going to suggest. If you do the swap you might as well replace all your worn out steering components that need it as well!
