Cooked my ECU tonight

Truck has been having some issues lately - lack of power at times, backfire through throttle body, mysterious high idle and a few other drivability issues. Heading for the freeway after work and it had a serious bog when I would get on the throttle, and about 10 minutes into the commute I started smelling hot electrical. Pulled over a couple times to look under the hood and couldn't find anything then realized it was coming from inside the cab. Started feeling around with wiring and nothing was hot, but then touched the ECU and it was almost too hot to touch. Made a run for home and it got me all the way there but there were a few times when it was cutting out to the point of where I almost called for a tow. Made it home and pulled the ECU and found a nice burn area around one of the chips.

Remanufactured AC Delco on the way thanks to Rock Auto.

Fuel selector has been acting up intermittently also, so a new valve and switch are on the way also.

Add in the phone call from the machine shop telling me the heads for my 6.5 were beyond saving and this was an expensive car parts day.
