1988 K5 Dual Exhaust Kits

Does anyone have a suggestion for a dual exhaust kit (with long tube headers) that actually fits right? I went on Summits website and they list Dynamax and Hooker but the kits look the same and reviews all said the passenger side tailpipes fit but not the drivers side. The pictures show the pipes being different.
Can anybody recommend a kit that fits right?

make sure you do 90* or 45* out the sides . if you do out the back end on blazers or suburbans with tailgate window down guys say the exhaust fumes are nasty in the cab .

Re: 1988 K5 Dual Exhaust Kits

Thanks but the kits I mentioned are both side exit kits. I planned to have the pipes exit behind the rear tires but all the kits I see listed show the left tailpipe bent differently from the right (not mirrored bends.) Reviews say the right side works correctly but the left side does not and needs to be bent like the right side only "mirrored" of course. I am trying to see if anyone makes a kit with the correct bends for both sides.
Anybody have any other brands I might check out?

I have my heart set on duals straight out the back I wonder if you have the wing windows open would it fight exhaust coming in the rear window?

Re: 1988 K5 Dual Exhaust Kits

All the kits I've seen are exiting behind the rear wheels.

Again, anybody know of any "kits" that fit properly?

Not trying to be rude I appreciate the input but I'd like to get this post back on track.

Thanks.

Re: 1988 K5 Dual Exhaust Kits

might be faster and better to just hit up your local exhaust shop and have a system custom bent just the way you want it .

Re: 1988 K5 Dual Exhaust Kits

I have used the hooker kit on my k10, and the dynmax kit on 3 c10s, it's just pipe, if you can't tweak it a little here and there to make it fit to your liking, then it would be best to go to a shop and have some exhaust bent up for you. I think the kits are a great value for guys with a little mechanical common sense.

Thanks I'll have to go check that out. Truckman you might have better luck if you post in the blazer section...or go to a shop.

Jasonb, I've been wrenching and restoring for over fifty years but after getting paralyzed twenty one years ago I'm not thrilled by tweaking so much anymore. I figure there must be a kit out there that is a bolt in without having to "tweak" especially if it means having to re-bend pipes that should fit.

Just looking for a kit that's made right from the start. At my age I just want to get something I can put on that works out of the box.

Thanks.

BHTH, I don't know why but I didn't even realize there is a blazer section. It sucks getting old! (Guess it beats the alternative!) LOL!

Thanks!
