Let's See Your Seats!

Buckets that is. I want to install some different bucket seats, preferably hi backs, and want to see what others have done.

I went for 3 buckets across the front. I need to upholster them so they match. '89 Camaro seats, 4point BlackHawk helicpter harnesses, and the ceter one is from a bass boat. i put a short one in the center so it didn't block the mirror.

Thanks mister.freeze! I'd like to incorporate some better restraints then my current lap belts as well. I'm sure you are not the only person who has installed different seats. Anybody else?

I looked at some 97 Toyota leather/power seats out of a four runner today, the wrecker wanted $600 bucks! Or I could buy new Bestop "trailmax" buckets for just over $200 each. Decisions!! Since I plan on going topless in the summer, I want either leather or vinyl.

Here is the backs. Since this photo, I have put on some nicer covers and used some vinal spray on the the areas still exposed to try and hide some of the ugliness. The PO made the brackets and they sit about 2" too high.

You can really get much better deals that the prices your quoting. I've been looking here locally and these are some of the deals that I have found. I will install in the next couple of months.

One wrecking yard had 15 sets of bucket seats, with integrated seat belts, but no power for $25 per set. I spoke with a local upolstery shop and they can recover the seats in a marine type vinyl or water proof cloth for around $150 per seat. Power seats are much more expensive, but there are still some good seats out there.

If you are a big guy ( say 6'4" and 220 or so) I would not recomend the Jeep set-up. They are kind of narrow and your butt will go to sleep. I just happen to know that.

ill have to get a pic for you , i have a pair of after market dygert high backs in mine , i like them because the flip all the way back and leave easy acces for a certain female to grab the roll bar ,, hehe , also i never use it but the driver seat has a lever under it so it also swivels to face the passenger or out the door ,, i dont know why its there but at one time it was a show blazer that was featured in alot of magazines , or so i was told by the previous owner

i am going to put four newer 99 and up chevy truck seats in mine, when ever it comes home from the body shop,
i picked these because of the cost and because of the seat belt built in to the seat,
when i bought the blazer it had a tahoo bench as a front seat and a org bensh in the back that had better days
the body shop is going to weld studs for the seats to bolt to so there in there all snug but i well post pics whenever it comes home going on the six month now.
also has any one ever seen where sombody used four buckets instead of a bench in the back, i think it is going to look good,

I'm installing seats out of a 94-95 Dodge club cab truck. It has built in seat belts and a flip up center console. The passenger side seat flips up, so it out to be a sweet setup. I'll post a pic when I get them mounted. Might take awhile though, the seat mounting is pretty far down on the to do list. Got to put the tub together first, hehe.

i dont have pics but the rust bucket blazer i am trying to sell has caravan minivan seats in it...they are the right height without making any brackets and are pretty cheap

Dobie G, who makes those and, if you don't mind, what is a rough ballpark price? The look very comfortable and fit the Blazer nicely!

I got them at 4 wheel parts. They're made for Heeps but We adapted them and they actually use the original brackets that came with the Blazer.


They were about $500.00 (apprx) for the pair.
