Best way to paint scallops?

I am going to be painting scallops on my '64, but have never painted these before. What tape do I use to lay out the design? How quickly can I peel off the tape so I don't have to score the tape line?

Any other advice is appreciated!

Re: Best way to paint scallops?

Here is a "Basics of Basics" on the subject of masking. I have found this to be THE trick to masking stuff like this. Now mind you, I am no custom painter. But this is my method any time I do something like this.
